Meet Sadikshya Shrestha, a junior studying international business and marketing at Eastern Michigan University. Sadikshya comes from the vibrant capital city of Kathmandu, Nepal. Despite the challenges of being an international student and encountering the paperwork difficulties of a first internship in the US, Sadikshya’s journey as a Digital Marketing Intern has been nothing short of remarkable.

During the summer of 2023, Sadikshya started an internship through The Digital Summer Clinic at the company MeetYourClass, the largest social networking platform for incoming university students across the United States. When Sadikshya started as a Digital Marketing Intern, she was immersed in the vibrant atmosphere at the clinic. Wholeheartedly embracing her role, Sadikshya not only connected with students from different schools during in-person meetings but also gained valuable insights into the realm of digital marketing through engaging workshops with guest speakers.

Sadikshya started the internship with many notable skills, and those skills blossomed throughout the internship. She engaged in various digital marketing activities such as creating YouTube shorts, participating in live Q&A sessions with company representatives, and contributing to the Digital Lives series featuring interns. The internship not only honed Sadikshya’s skills in social media marketing, digital marketing, and search engine optimization but also fostered growth in time management and communication. Her impact on MeetYourClass was tangible, as she enhanced the company’s online presence, resulting in a 30% increase in organic website traffic and improved engagement. Sadikshya’s collaboration with the CEO on Business Development initiatives and the creation of engaging infographics showcased her commitment to organizational success. These experiences became a stepping stone for her subsequent role as a Field Manager in August 2023. Today, as a Field Manager, she is a leader in our marketing endeavors.

Sadikshya states that “the career-building networking opportunities, resume reviews, and mentor tips enriched my professional journey in the United States.” Through the internship, Sadikshya had the opportunity to give weekly status-update presentations to the mentor team and receive feedback on her work.
